HDA - Higher Diploma in Accounting

HDA is recognised by universities and professional bodies in the UK and worldwide.HDA is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales(ICAEW),the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA),and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants(CIMA).In addition,HDA is considered by different UK universities and colleges for advanced standing within relevant undergraduate programmes.


About SQA
The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is the non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government responsible for accreditation and educational awards.SQA is also the national accreditation body in Scotland, UK. It is funded by the Scottish Government and based in Glasgow and Dalkeith. SQA authorises all vocational qualifications that are available in Scotland and approves organisations that wish to deliver different academic and vocational qualifications.SQA strives to ensure that its qualifications are inclusive and accessible to all, that they recognise the achievements of learners and that they provide clear pathways to further learning or employment.


ENTRY IN HDA
GCE A-Level with at least D grade in one subjects or equivalent qualifications are likely to successfully cope with HDA assessment.

HDA Papers title as follows

A student MUST pass minimum 6 exams to become an HDA graduate.
FA--- Financial Accounting
MA--- Management Accounting
BF--- Business & Finance
AMA-- Advanced Management Accounting
TX--- Taxation (UK)
BS--- Business Strategy
AA--- Assurance
FM--- Financial Management
EM--- Business Economics & Mathematics
BCL-- Business Law & Company Law

After HDA
If any student want to do

ICAEW
students should take (For 8 exemptions) FA, MA, BF, FM, AA, TX, BCL and BS.

ACCA
students should take(For 6 exemptions) FA, MA, TX, AMA plus any two units.

CIMA
students should take (For 5 exemptions) FA, MA, BCL, EM plus any two units.

EDEXCEL HND Accounting
students should take(For full exemptions) FA, MA, FM plus any four units.

CAT
student should take (For full exemptions)FA, MA plus any four units.

CPA (SQA)
student should take(For one exemptions) FM plus any five units.

For joining in stage-3 of Heriot-Watt University BBA programme student should take any eight units
Please do note that exemption policies and conditions are subject to periodic review by relevant accountancy bodies.
